John Clemmer

John was born circa 1757 in Franconia Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Heinrich Clemmer and Anna Maria Bitzer. John married Margret Gotshall.1 John fought in the Revoluntionary War in the Second Company of the 1st Battallion of the Philadelphia County Militia. John & Margaret had children: Catherine [1780-5/20/1860][m. Peter Boorse], Susanna [9/12/1782-11/29/1859][m. Daniel Boorse], Edith [2/06/1784-7/22/1866][m. Conrad Haring], Margaret [1789-1823][m. John Clemens], Sarah [3/11/1791-8/28/1868], John [8/28/1793-1883][m. Mary Smith], Mary [1796-12/26/1858][m. John Lederach] & Abraham [1798-8/__/1837].2 John departed this life on Wednesday, 14 December 1836 in Towamencin Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He was buried in Lower Salford Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in the lower Salford Mennonite Cemetery. The inscription on his tombstone reads: Johannes Clemer died Dec 14 1836.
