Japhet Chapin

     Japhet was born circa 15 October 1642 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. On 15 October 1642, he was christened in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Deacon Samuel Chapin and Cecily Penny. Japhet married Abilenah Cooley on 22 July 1664 in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut.2 Japhet's wife, Abilenah, died on 17 November 1710 in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts, leaving him a widower. Japhet departed this life on Saturday, 20 February 1712 in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts.2
