Benjamin Burt1

Benjamin was born on Sunday, 17 November 1680 in Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. He was the son of David Burt and Mary Holton. Benjamin married Sarah Belden, daughter of Daniel Belden and Elizabeth Foote, on 19 October 1702 in Deerfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts. Benjamin's wife, Sarah, died in June 1749 in Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, leaving him a widower. Benjamin departed this life on Sunday, 20 May 1759 in Ridgefield at age 78 years, 6 months and 3 days. He was buried there in Titicus Cemetery. The inscription on his tombsgtone reads: Here lyes buried the body of Benjamin Burt who departed this life May 20, 1759 in the 80th year of his age.2
