Peter was born in Buchholterberg, Thun, Parish of Oberdiessbach, Canton of Berne, Switzerland. He was christened there on 18 October 1691. He was the son of Hans Bieri and Madelena Roht. Peter departed this life before 31 March 1695. On this date, his parents christened another son with this name.
