Sarah Latham Wright1

Sarah Latham was born on Monday, 26 December 1791 in the City, County & State of New York. She was named after her father's sister, Sarah, who married Joseph Latham. She was the daughter of Augustus Wright and Katharine Uyt ten Bogaert [second]. She was often referred to as Sallie. Sarah Latham married Alfred De Forest on 2 May 1820 in New York City at the Brick Presbyterian Church. They were married by Rev. Dr. Spring.2 They resided in New York City. She ws a very beautiful woman - tall & graceful. It is said that her husband did not treat her well. She was a timid person & that she died of a broken heart.3 Alfred & Sallie had children: David Lambert [4/22/1821-10/30/1821]. Sarah departed this life on Saturday, 19 January 1822 in New York City at age 30 years and 24 days. She was buried there in the grave yard of the Presbyterian Church ot the coner of Beekman & Nassau. Her baby was also buried there.
