Temperance Williams

     Temperance was born circa 1682 in the Town of Hempstead, Queens County, Long Island, New York. She was the daughter of John Williams and Leah Townsend. Temperance married David Seaman in the Town of Hempstead, Queens County, Long Island, New York. Temperance's husband, David, died before 1733 in the Town of Hempstead, Queens County, Long Island, New York, leaving her a widow. Temperance married 2nd James Searing, son of John Searing I and Susanah Pine, circa 1733 in Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York. . James & Temperance had children: John [1734][ m. Martha Smith [1737]]. John & Martha had children: Samuel [1756], Sarah [1758], Daniel [1759], James [1761], Ruth [1763], Susannah [1765], Mary [1767], John [1769], Jemina [1671], Martha [1674], Jane [1776], Rebecca [1779]. James refers in his will to son-in-law Zebulon who was his step son. Zebuton [1718][m. 1743 Phebe Valentine [1721 d/o Obadiah & Martha Willets]]. Zebulon's daughter Phebe [1771][m. Samuel Searing [1756 son of John & Martha]. Temperance's husband, James, died before 12 May 1746 in Hempstead Town, leaving her a widow.
