Daniel Whitney1

Daniel was born on Tuesday, 12 January 1745 in Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut.2 He was the son of Daniel Whitney and Thankful Burt. Daniel married Martha Burt circa 1766 in Warwick, Orange County, New York. Around 1766, Daniel & his family resided at Warwick, Orange County, New York. He was a farmer. Daniel and Martha had children: Thomas [2/02/1767-2/05/1834] [m. Hannah Parker] Huldah [1/06/1769-3/27/1852] [m. 1/15/1790 Stephen Bailey], Pruella [m. John Durham] & Moses Whitney [m. Phebe Schoonover]. Daniel departed this life in June 1784 in Wyoming Region, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, at age 39 years and 4 months. He died of over-exertion. He was not fully recovered from an attack of the measles.
