Sir Roger le Zouche

Roger le was born in 1242 in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, England. He was the son of Sir Alan le Zouche and Lady Ellen de Quincey. He was a knight of Ashby. Roger married Ela Longespee before 1267 in England. In 1270, Roger and his father, Alan, were involved in a law suit involving John de Warenne, Earl of Surrey. The father and son were assaulted violently by the Earl; Alan was mortally wounded in the assault. The assault took place before the Justices in Westminster Hall.1 Roger's wife, an unknown person , died before 19 July 1276, leaving him a widower. Roger departed this life shortly before 15 October 1285.2
