Captain Joseph Yonges

Joseph was born circa 1604 in County Suffolk, England. He was the son of Rev. Christopher Yonges and Margaret (?) Joseph married Margaret Warryn, daughter of Thomas Warren, on 5 February 1632 in Reydon, County Suffolk, England.1 Joseph was a mariner. He resided at Salem in 1638. He took a freight of beaver to England for the Plymoutn Company in 1638 in the “Mary and Ann”. He sold his land at Salem in 1649.2 Joseph departed this life on Monday, 7 January 1658 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
