Richard Warren1

M, b. circa 1501, d. before 2 May 1557
     Richard was born circa 1501 in England. He was of Bassingbourn. Richard married Alice Jenawaye circa 1526 in England. Bassingbourn, Cambridgeshire near the border with Herefordshire & 3 miles away from Royston, Herefordshire.2 Richard made his will on 28 March 1557 at Bassingbourne, Cambridgeshire, England.

Richarde Warren of bassingborne, county Cambridge . . . sycke in bodye . . . Richarde my sonne ye howse whiche I nowe dwell in wt all ye lande & pastuore be longynge . . . lande somtymes called . . . John Asshwells except one called Bandall . . . also A closse called frenche brydge closse . . . & also Rowses medew . . and iiij acres of brodlande & ij beasts & a horse for them wch I had of hym also iiiji of legall monye forge vj quarters maulte whiche I borrowed of hym & also my lease of burye yearde.     . . sayed Rycharde my sonne both my cupbords in ye hall A forme ij chayers & two buffet stoles & my maser [large drinking bowl of hard wood, often footed and silver mounted] - - -Nycolas my sonne my mesuage at goose styli wt v Roods of land belongyne to yt & a halfe yearde lande wt a mesuage called Willimoth buttynge uppon Walton grene. . . . Alce my wife my howse called atkynsons wch castell now dwelleth in wt acers lande in ye ocupienge of ye sayed castell dwerynge ye terme of hir lyffe. . . . Henry my sonne £v. . . . Augerye waren ye sayed Henrs dawghter xxxiijs iiijd. . . . Alce my wyffe Richarde my soone & nicolas my soonne all my goods movable . . [and] executors. . . . Will'm Waren ye sonne of Will'm Waren ye elder to be supvisor.3

Richard departed this life in Bassingbourne. His will was probated on 2 May 1557 in the archdeanery of Ely.
