James Wallace

     James was born on Wednesday, 8 February 1713 in Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. James married Abigail Burt, daughter of Benjamin Burt and Sarah Belden, on 12 February 1736.1 James and Abigail had children: James [4/30/1737], Abigail [12/21/1740], Thomas [5/30 1743], Mary [8/25/1746], Abijah [8/13/1748], Mariah [10/22/1750], James [7/28/1752], Sarah [7/28/1752], Jacob [6/17/1754], Lucy [4/10/1757].2 James departed this life on Wednesday, 20 March 1782 in North Salem, Westchester County, New York, at age 69 years, 1 month and 12 days. He was buried at North Salem, Westchester County, New York, in June Cemetery. The inscription on his tombstone reads: In Memory of Capt James Wallace who departed this life March ye 20 1782.3
