Sir Roger de was born in Stanford, Worchestershire, England. He was the son of Sir John de Washburn and Isabelle Cassey. Sir married Margaret (?) before 1316 in England. He and Margaret were blessed with 2 children and possibly others. Sir Roger had property in Washbourne & Stanford. His name is on the rolls of the birth places in 1327; also on the rolls in 1332 & 1333 under Stanford. In the Nonarun Inquisition of 1340, John joins in the declaration as to the church at Overbury [Little Washbourne]. His name is found on the rolls under Stanford in 1346 & 1358. He was the patron of the living at Stanford & appointed three incumbents to the church.
