Barnabus Tuthill1

     Barnabus was born circa 1732 in Orient, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He was a twin. He was the son of Henry Tuthill II and Phebe Youngs. Barnabus married Lydia King on 8 March 1759 in Oysterponds in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Barnabus & Lydia had children: Barnabus, Joshus, Hannah, Lydia, Bethia, Elizabeth, Samuel, Benjamin, Lucretia & Gamaliel. Barnabus's wife, Lydia, died on 18 September 1779 in Oysterponds in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, leaving him a widower. Barnabus married 2nd Amy King on 20 February 1781 in Oysterponds in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Barnabus made his will on 1 October 1782 at the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He mentions his wife Ame & his children: Barnabus, Joshus minor, Hannah minor, Lydia, Bethia, Elizabeth, Samuel, Benjamin, Lucretia, Gamaliel. [New York Wills: Liber 35, page 192]2 Barnabus departed this life on Wednesday, 9 October 1782 in Oysterponds in the Town of Southold. His will was probated on 16 January 1783.
