William Walling
M, b. circa 1699
William was born circa 1699 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island. He was the son of James Walling and Elizabeth Sprague. William married Hannah Hicks in Swansea Township, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He signed a petition to the Rhode Island Legislature in June 1728. In May of 1732, William, with his brothers Cornelius & Daniel, were admitted freemen in Glocester. He purchased property New Hartford, Connecticut as early as 1748. His brothers, Daniel & Thomas, also moved there. His father left him his wearing apparel & a gun in his will of 7 March 1752. In 1778, he granted land in New Hartford to his son, William.1,2,3 William departed this life possibly in New Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut.
