     Zebulon was born circa 1762 in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. He was the son of Henry Townsend V and Anne Wright. Zebulon married Anna Cock on 15 February 1793 in Orange County, New York. Zebulon & Anna had children: Elizabeth [5/24/1794][m. Daniel Cromwell], Mary [5/07/1796][m. David Ford], Phebe [12/15/1797][m. Israel Green], Charles [1/16/1800-9/24/1839][m. Margaret Conklin] & Henry [5/09/1803-9/29/1849][m. Harriet Conklin].3 The 1810 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Monroe, Orange County, New York, the family of Zebulon Townsend [13102:12101].4 The 1820 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Monroe the family of Zebulon Townsend [011201:01101].5 The 1830 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Monroe the family of Zebulon Townsend [210040001:020020001].6 Zebulon made his will on 2 November 1836 at Monroe, Orange County, New York.

I Zebulon Townsend of the town of Monroe, County of Orange an State of New York Farmer. I do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following: That is to say; First I order my Executors, herein after named to pay all my Just Debts, Funeral Expenses an th charge of proving and executing this my Last Will as soon ater my decease as can conveniently be done - - - Item I give and bequeath to my daughters namely Elizabeth Mary and Phebe one dollar each - - -Item I give an bequeath to my son Charles one dollar - - - Item I give and devise to my son Henry and to his heirs and assigns forever, all my real and personal estate that I know occupy consisting of my farms and stock, also my house hold furniture beds and bedding. And Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint Henry Titus of the town of Corwall and Alexander Campbrll of the town of Monroe Executors of this my Last Will and Testament, authorizing and empowering then or the survivor to them to compromise and compound with any or al my Just debts and Settle by arbitration every and all disputes that shall or may arise in the settle of my estate. Hereby revoking all former Will by me made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of the eleventh month [November] one thousand eight hundred an thirty six. - - - Zebulon Townsend - - - Signed Sealed Published and declared by the Testator to be his Last will an Testament in the presence of us who at the request of the said Testator have subscribed our names as Whitnesses, Archibald Campbell T. G. Wilkes Reuben Slauson all of Monroe.7

Zebulon departed this life on Sunday, 4 December 1836 in Monroe. His will was probated on 11 January 1837.
