Answer: Suggest that you look into the name Christopher Townsend who died in Dutchess Co., NY in 1809. In his will he named a son as Darius. Darius' brother was named Christopher, Jr. and he died at Somerset, Niagara Co., NY. Many of the said Christopher's children went to Michigan. It is possible that Darius may have gone to Greene Co., NY from Dutchess Co., NY. Darius is not a common name among the Townsends and the name Paddock is very definitely a Dutchess County name. If indeed Christopher was the father of your Darius, the line would run Darius6 Christopher, Thomas, John, Thomas John. - [S646] Documentation: Sheet 240.
