Jane Tapp

Jane was born in Bennington, Herefordshire, England. She was christened there on 14 February 1627/28 in St. Peter's Church.1 She was the daughter of Edmund Tapp II and Anna (?) Jane married Robert Treat, son of Richard Treat and Alice Gaylord, during the evening of Christmas 1647, at a spinning bee in the Tapp family home in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut.2 Jane departed this life on Wednesday, 31 October 1703 in New Haven. She was buried there in the first Church of Milford Cemetery. The inscription on her stone reads: "1703 Heere Lieth Interrd Mrs. Jane Treat aged 75 years and Dyed the Last ... [rest missing or buried in ground]".3
