John Travers

He matriculated at Corpus Christi College at Oxford in 1567 & earned his BA 14 January 1573. It was here that he became friends with Richard Hooker, son of Roger & nephew of John. As a reult of this friendship, he found his future wife. John was born in 1550 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England, at the parish of St. Peter. He was the son of Walter Travers & Anne.1 John married Alice Hooker, daughter of John Hooker and Anastasia Bridgeman, on 25 July 1580 in England.1 He was the Rector of Faringdon, Devonshire. John made his will on 1 March 1618 at Exeter, Devonshire, England.1 John departed this life before 10 November 1620 in Exeter, Devonshire, England. His will was probated on 10 November 1620 at Exeter, Devonshire, England.2
