Mary Stedman

     Mary was born on Friday, 4 March 1768 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut. She went by the name Polly. She was the daughter of John Stedman I and Mary Frances Hotchkiss. Mary married Asahel Pritchard on 22 August 1790 in Connecticut. Asahel & Polly had children: Salmon [1801-1886] [m. Maryette Southwick], Calvin [1803-12/03/1880], Trial S. [1806-1/12/1866], Lyman [1808-7/11/1873], Mary [1811-8/24/1886] [m. George W. Southwick]. Mary's husband, Asahel, died on 25 September 1841 in Flemingville, Tioga County, New York, leaving her a widow. Mary departed this life on Friday, 11 January 1850 in Newark Valley, Tioga County, New York. She was buried at Owego, Tioga County, New York, in the Flemingville Cemetery.¹
