Samuel Smith Jr.

     Samuel was born in Whatfield, County Suffolk, England. He was christened there on 8 February 1625/26 in St. Margaret's Church. He was the son of Lieutenant Samuel Smith and Elizabeth Smythe. Samuel married Rebecca Smith. It appears that Rebecca was unhappy with this marriage & had another love, Nathaniel Borman. Samuel left her as an honorable move so that she could free herself & marry the man she loved. He went to Virginia before 1664 & did not return. She married Nathaniel in 1669.
