Hester Swete

     Hester was born circa 1573 in Modbury, Devonshire, England, at the Trayne Manor. She was the daughter of John Swete and Margery Peryam. She was never married. Hester made her will on 12 September 1604 at Halwell, Devonshire, England. [CR:]
She mentions her sister Margery Batty & her children; her brother Robert & his children; her sister Elizabeth Synner & her children: Stephen, Thomas, Henry, John, Arthur & Susan [surname all spelled Shinner]; her sister Agnes Parnell & her children: John, Samuel, Henry, Nathaniel & Reza; & the Costerd children: ______ the younger, Mary, Elizabeth & John. Also mentioned were: Agnes Wolcott; Alice Neyle & her dauther Johana; John Philippe; Johanna March, wife of John March & William, son of George Cruse. Johan Drewe & Elizabeth Hamling, her godchildren were mentioned as well. She named Susan Costerd as her executrix.1

The inventory of Hester's estate was taken on Wednesday, 13 October 1604. Her inventory was taken by Henry Swete & her brothe-in-law John Parnell. Her estate was valued at £ 68.6.8. Her will was probated on 15 October 1604.
