Comfort Stimson

     Comfort was born on Thursday, 7 October 1683 in St. Anne's Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She was the daughter of John Stimson and Rachel Beard. Comfort married John Dorsey on 22 August 1702 in South River at All Hallow's Parish.¹ John and Comfort had children: Venetia [chr. 6/29/1708], Comfort [7/03/1710-7/12/1787][m. 1727 Joseph Cromwell], Greenbury [1711-4/29/1782][m. 6/18/1726 Mary Belt; 2nd. 1750 Sarah Bond & 3rd. 1760 Catherine Grimes], Joshua [1712-1784][m. 11/03/1734 Flora Fitzsimmons], Vincent [1714- 2/05/1753][m. 10/26/1742 Sarah Day], Sarah [9/17/1717-before 1788][m. 4/17/1733 Alexander Cromwell], Venetia [1016/1718][m. 2/10/1740 Woolquist Cromwell], John Hammond [1724-3/18/1775][m. 2/16/1743 Frances Watkins]. Comfort departed this life on Friday, 23 June 1747 in Baltimore at age 63 years, 8 months and 16 days.
