Abigail Sherwood

Abigail was born circa 1649. She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Sherwood. Abigail married Daniel Lockwood, son of Robert Lockwood and Susannah Norman, in 1668 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. Abigail's husband, Daniel, died on 30 May 1691 in Fairfield leaving her a widow. Abigail made her will on 29 February 1692.
In the name of God Amen I Abigal Lockwood of Fairfield, in the County of Fairfield in New England widow – being sick and week of body yet of Sound and perfect memory . . . I give and bequeath to my oldest son, Daniel, ½ all my estate . . .provide for her . . . until she arrives to the age of eighteen years of marriage if she should marry sooner . . . I give to my loving daughter Abigale the wife of Samuel Robinson and to Mary Lockwood . . . my brother Mathew Sherwood and my brother Joseph Lockwood to be overseers . . . And I doe nominate and appoint my loving sonn Daniel Lockwood to be Executor of this my last will and testament and that this is my last will I have hereunto set my hand this 29 day of February 1691/2 -signed Abigall Lockwood Witnesses: Sarah Gold & Eliphalet Hill.1
Abigail departed this life in Fairfield. Her will was probated on 15 March 1692. The will and inventory were exhibited to the court and proved.1
