She was the daughter of John Searing III and Elizabeth Reyerse. Ame married James Smith on 11 May 1753 in Queens County, Long Island, New York, at St. George's Anglician Church in the Town of Hempstead.2,3 James & Anne [Ame] had children: Samuel, Anne [m. Alexander McDonal], Elizabeth [m. Mr. Cornwell]] & Susan.. Some records name her as Anne & others Ame. Her ancestors call her Ame. It is assumed Ame died before before 25 November 1772 in Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York, as her husband was remarried on this date. After 10 November 1761 [her mother's will].
