Phebe Sammis

     Phebe was born in 1718 in Huntington, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. She was the daughter of David Sammis [Samwayas] and Sarah (?) Phebe departed this life on Saturday, 4 July 1739 in Huntington at age 21 years. She was buried there in the Old Burying Hill Cemetery. The inscription on her tombstone reads: Here lieth interred ye body of Pheby ye daughter of David & Sarah Sammis died July ye 4th, 1739 in ye 22nd year of her age.
