Harlan Davenport Shelly

     Harlan Davenport was born on Tuesday, 19 June 1906 in Grass Lake, Jackson County, Michigan. He was the son of William A. & Stella [Smith] Shelly. He was the grandson of William & Lida Smith. Harlan married Geraldine Elizabeth Howell, daughter of Rice Alva Howell and Vera Grace Glazier, on 3 September 1929 in Bowling Green, Wood County, Ohio. This marriage ended in divorce. They were remarried and divorced again.1 1930, Harlan and his wife, Geraldine, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Grass Lake, Jackson County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were Harlan Shelly [23 Michigan] & his wife: Geraldine [20 Washington].2 He and Geraldine Elizabeth were blessed with 2 daughters. Harlan departed this life on Wednesday, 31 January 1979 in South Branch, Crawford County, Michigan.3
