George Sandys

George was born circa 1512 in Furnesse Fells, Haekshead Parish, Lancastershire, England, at Esthwaite Hall. He was the son of William Sandys and Margaret Dixon. George departed this life on Wednesday, 10 September 1547 in Musselburgh, Lothian County, Scotland. He died at Musselboro Field while fighting the Scots which was not too far from his home.
