Joris Remsen

Joris was born circa 1682. He married first Lammertje Jorise Bergen, daughter of Joris Hansen and Sara Janse Strycker. Joris married Sarah Polhemius, daughter of Theodorus Polhemius and Aertje Teunise Bogart, circa 1710. Joseph & Sarah had a son, Gideon. They resided at New York City. Joris made his will on 26 March 1744 at Orange County, New York.
In his will, Joreis Remsen, Named wife Sarah to be executtor with son Theo. Eldest son Rem to have the large Bible and 10 acres land near the home lot. Names his three daughters Ann Remsen, Article or Amelie Remsen, Lambatio or Lambtie Remsen ( given names with variation of spelling within this document) to share equally in land on the Pond north of that of Jacob Perhelmus. To George Perhemus and Lambetie and the grandchildren. Wife Sarah all personal property. Son Theo land on the Pond next to that of William Teller. He describes the lands at length.
