     Syntje was born before 2 April 1682 in Flatbush, in the Town of Brooklyn, Kings County, Long Island, New York. On 2 April 1682, she was christened. The sponsors were Cathalyntie Joris Rapalje. She was the daughter of Marten Ryertszen and Annetje Rapalje.
