Martha Rainsborough

F, d. circa 24 October 1660
     Martha married 2nd John Winthrop, son of Adam Winthrop III and Anne Browne, after 20 December 1647 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. She was the widow of Thomas Coytmore & sister of Thomas & William Rainsborough.1 John & Martha had one child, Joshua [chr. 12/17/1648] & lived little more than three years.2 Martha's husband, John, died on 26 March 1649 in Boston leaving her a widow.3 Martha married 2nd John Coggan on 10 March 1652 in Boston. On the day of this marriage, all of Governor John Winthrop's 16 children were dead except: John, Stephen, Dean & Samuel.4 Martha departed this life circa 24 October 1660 in Boston in the Massachuetts Bay Colony.
