Edward Robins1

Edward was born in Long Buckby, Northamptonshire, England. He was christened there on 26 August 1604 in St. Lawrence Church.2,3 He was the son of Richard Robins and Dorothy Goodman. Edward married by license Jane Cornish, daughter of Richard Cornish and Grace Gooding, on 16 April 1630 in the parish Church, Fawsley, Northamptonshire, England.2,4,5 On 21 August 1635, Edward left from the port of London aboard the ship, "Thomas", to be ttransported to Virginia. Listed among the passengers was Edward Robins, age 33 years. It appears he did not bring his family with him on this trip..6 On 3 August 1640, Edward and Phillipp Taylor consented in court to end their suit; then on 1 February 1641, Edward was paid 50 pounds of tobacco as the result of the law suit.7,6 Edward departed this life before 11 January 1640/41 in Accomac, Northampton County, Virginia, as on this date, Thomas Joyner peoduces a letter at court identifying himself as the attorney for Edward Robins which also declares his brother Obedience to be the administrator of Edward's estate. Then on 17 May 1641, Mr. Joyner delivered the deceased Edward's accounts to Obedience Robins.8,6
