Jeanne Rivard

F, b. circa 24 August 1656, d. circa 25 November 1698
     Jeanne was born in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. She was christened there on 24 August 1656 in the Cathedral de l'Assomption.1 She was the daughter of Nicolas Rivard dit Lavigne and Catherine St-Pere. A contract for the marriage of Jeanne & Charles Duteau was signed on 22 April 1669. It was drawn up by the notary, Mr. Latouche. Charles was noted as being from the parish of St-Nicolas in La-Rochelle, now a resident of Champlain & his parents as Pierre Dutos & Jeanne Pairain. Jeanne was noted as a resident of Cap-de-la-Madeleine & her parents as Nicolas Rivart & Jeanne Destpaire.. 1681, Jeanne and her husband, Charles, were listed on the Canadian Census in Champlain, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Charles Duteau [39 years], Jeanne Rivart [36 years], Marie [6 years], Catherine [4 years] & Charlotte [2 years].2 Jeanne departed this life in Champlain. She was buried there in the churchyard of la Visitation on Tuesday, 25 November 1698.3
