     Daniel was born in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, England. He was christened there on 3 March 1621/22 in St. Mary's Church. He was the son of William Preston and Elizabeth Sales. Daniel married Mary (?) circa 1644 in Dorchester, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Daniel and Mary had a son, Daniel [10/07/1649-3/13/1676] [m. Abigail Jackson].
