Jacob Westell Ridgely

     Jacob Westell was born in 1841 in Whetstone Township, Crawford County, Ohio. He was named after his paternal grandfather, Jacob Ridgely. He was the son of Westall Ridgely and Susannah Winbegler. Jacob was a member of Company F of the First Michigan Engineers & Mechanics Regiment. Jacob departed this life on Saturday, 11 March 1865 in Tullahoma, Coffee County, Tennessee. He was buried in Marcellus Township, Cass County, Michigan, in Bly Cemetery.
