Sarah Purrier1

Sarah was born circa 1630 in Olney, Buckinghamshire, England. She was 5 years of age when she arrived on the ship "hopewell" in April of 1635.2 She was the daughter of William Purrier and Alice Knight. Sarah married Thomas Mapes, son of Not Known Which Son Mapes, in 1650 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. She and Thomas were blessed with 11 children. Sarah's husband, Thomas, died in 1687 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, leaving her a widow. Sarah departed this life before 1698 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. She does not appear on the Southold Town Census of 1698.3
