Robert Plumpton

     Robert was born in 1453. Vill de Plumpton. He was the son of William de Plumpton I and Joan Wintringham. Robert married Agnes Gascoigne, daughter of William Gascoigne, in 1477 in England. After his father's death in 1480, and by 1482, Robert was knighted by the Duke of Glocester. He served his King well and received acknowelgement from the sovereign himself, Henry VII. Immediately after the death of his father, Robert was confirmed to his inherited offices of Constable of the Castle of Knaresborough and of Master Forester, as well as in the Stewardship of the Lordship of Spofford. Robert's wife, Agnes, died in 1504 in the Ville de Plumpton, Spofforth Parish, West Riding of Yorkshire, England, leaving him a widower. Robert married Elizabeth Neville in 1505 in England. Robert departed this life in 1523 in Spofforth Parish, West Riding of Yorkshire, England, at the Ville de Plumpton. |.
