Richard was born in Staffordshire, England. He was the son of John Pershall and Helena Harcourt. Richard married Isabella Rolleston, daughter of Thomas Rolleston and Agnes Turvile, circa 1539. He and Isabella were blessed with 8 children. Around 1539, the family was residing in Swynnerton, Staffordshire, England. Richard's generation is the last of this family to live in Staffordshire and Shropshire. Two sons, Edmund, our ancestor, and James went into business: Edmund in London & James in Holland. Thomas and Robert remained in Staffordshire but family records have unfortunately been lost and because of the Reformation, the family seems to have kept their name out of public record. Humplhrey, the youngest child, also moved to London.
