Richard Neville

M, b. circa 1400, d. 11 December 1460
     Richard was born circa 1400 in County Durham, England, at Raby Castle. He was the son of Ralph Neville and Lady Joan (?) de Beaufort. Richard married Alice Montacute before February 1421. On this day, the couple were present at the coronation of Catherine of Valois.1 Richard & Alice had children: Joan [1422-1462][m.circa 1448 William fitz Alan], Cicely [1425-7/26/1450][m. 1434 Henry de Beauchamp & 2nd 1449 John Tiptoft], Richard [11/22/1428-4/14/1471], Alice [circa 1430][m. Henry fitz Hugh], John [1431-4/14/1471][m. Isabel Ingoldesthorpe], George [1432-6/08/1476], Catherine [1442-1504][m. 1458 William Bonville & 2nd 1462 William Hastings], Thomas [1443-1460], Eleanor [1447][m. Thomas Stanley] & Margaret [1450-1506][m. John De Vere]. Richard died on Tuesday, 11 December 1460 in battle of Wakefield at Sandal Magna, West Yorkshire. He was buried at Berkshire, England, in Bishom Abbey. He had been 1st buried Burghfield Church in Berkshire before his sons removed him to his present site.1
