     Mary A. was born on Tuesday, 6 January 1807 in New Jersey. She was the daughter of James & Esther (Ludlam) Nelson of Rahway, New Jersey. Mary A. married Edward Augustus Wright, son of Augustus Wright and Katharine Uyt ten Bogaert [second], on 12 December 1826 in New York City. Edward & Mary had children: Augustus [12/25/1827-8/11/1828], Edward Augustus Jr. [5/13/1829-9/14/1907], Caroline Augusta [2/28/1831-9/16/1911], Margaret Leggett [5/21/1833-8/11/1836], & Maria Seaman [10/03/1835-8/16/1856]. 22 August 1850, Mary and her husband, Edward, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in New York City. Enumerated in this household were E. Nelson [66 New York-female], Edward A. Wright [48 New York], Mary A. Wright [48 New York], Edward A. Jr. [21 New York], Cath. [18 New York], Maria [14 New York], Cath. Smith [26 Ireland], & Mary Murphy [30 Ireland].¹ Mary departed this life on Tuesday, 2 June 1857 in New York City at age 50 years, 4 months and 27 days. She was buried there in Brooklyn in the Friends' Cemetery in Prospect Park.
