Ensign William Nickerson IV1

M, b. between 1669 and 1675, d. before 15 November 1742
     William was born between 1669 and 1675 in Monomoit, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. He was the son of William Nickerson III and Mercy Williams. William married Deliverance Lombard circa 1700 in Monomoit, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Ensign William, so "styled" about 1706 as leader of the local military company, lived on his land at Cotchpinicut (Old Harbor), but also received land at Monomessett (Nickerson's) Neck from his father. He was a tanner and carried on that business for many years. There was not only a demand for boots and shoes, but also for leather pants which nearly every man wore at work. He left the tanning house and business to his sons Caleb, Nathaniel and Eldad.

William married 2nd Anna Atwood, daughter of Eldad Atwood and Anne Snow, on 24 October 1717 in Chatham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.2 William departed this life before 15 November 1742 in Chatham.
