Josiah Beardsley

M, b. between 1685 and 1690, d. before 10 January 1770
     Josiah was born between 1685 and 1690 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. He was the son of Joseph Beardsley. Josiah married Mary Whittemore on 4 November 1712 in Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut.1 Josiah and Mary had children: Katherine [3/23/1713], Hannah [2/07/1715 –1805], Josiah [12/31/1716], Samuel [6/30/1719–1790)], Israel [3/13/1721–~1773], Benjamin [7/21/1723-1726], Isaac Judson [10/__/1725], Benjamin [2/28/1728–1802] & Jonathan [8/__1734].2 Josiah departed this life in Fairfield.3 The inventory of Josiah's estate was taken on Wednesday, 10 January 1770 by Francis Hawley and Ichabod Lewis.4 His will was probated on 6 February 1770. Josiah Beardslee presented the inventory to the court and had it approved. The estate of Josiah was distributed by an order of the court. The court appointed Icabod Lewis, Francis Hawley & Moses Wheeler. The personal estate was distributed to the widow, Mary and his children, Josiah, Benjamin & Hannah. The real estate was distibuted to the widow, Mary, and his children: Josiah, Samuel, Iarael, Benjamin, & Hannah.3 His will was probated on 6 March 1770. The court approved the distribution as presented by the subscribers.
