Joshua Bangs

     Joshua was born circa 1596 in Hempstead, County Essex, England. He was the son of John Bangs and Jane Chavis. In his father's will dated 27 August 1631, he was bequeathed 40 pounds. Joshua married Elizabeth Greene on 8 September 1642 in Norwich, County Norfolk, England, at St. Margaret's Church. Joshua and Elizaberth had children: Katherine [9/24/1643], Joshua [3/06/1644/45-2/05/1693/94], Jane [11/15/1646], Sampson [2/15/1647/48-1/21/1718], Elizabeth [1650], John [4/15/1651-10/22/1737], Benjamin [12/01/1652-2/09/1741/42], Deborah [7/12/1655] & Mary [3/22/1658]. The first two children were christened at Ashill, County Norfolk and the rest were christened at Longham, County Norfolk.¹
