Richard Baldwin1

Richard was born before 18 June 1570 in Pippers in the Parish of Chesham, Buckinghamshire, England. He was christened there on 18 June 1570 in St. Mary's Church.2 He was the son of Thomas Baldwin and Joane Tyndall. In the will of his father dated 11 October 1570, he left Richard £20. Richard married Isabella Harding on 31 May 1598 in Amersham or Agmondesham, Buckinghamshire, England. Richard did not receive the tenements and lands in Cholesbury by inheritance. In the will of his father dated 11 October 1570, he left Richard £20. Richard made his will on 23 May 1630 at Cholesbury, Buckinghamshire, England.
In the name of God, amen, I, Richard Bauldwin, of Cholesbury, in the county of Bucks, weaver, being weake in body, but of perfect and good remembrance, blessed be God, therefore, do make and ordayne this my last will and testament in maner and forme following: First, I comitt myself soule and body into the hands of Almighty God, etc. 1 give unto lsabell, my wife, one-third parte of all my goods: cattel, chattels, and the like, Item: I give unto Nathaniel, my sonn, the sum of tenn pounds, to be payd him within one yere nexl after my decease, Item: I give unto my sunn Joseph one meade plan, called by the name of Hunt's Wicke, by estimacon half an acre, more or Less, lying and adjoining to my cottage ye John Darrell now dwells in, For him to take possession of at his age of 21 yeres. £xiii vi s. vii d. Item: I give unto her daughter Mary 2 sheepe and her other two children each of them one sheepe. I give unto Hannah, my daughter £xiii vi s. vii d. and to each of my 2 other daughters Christian and Sara, £x apiece to be pd at the age of 21 yeres, or at the day of mariage which comes first. Item: I give to the pore of Cholesbury x s., and to the church, 3s. 4d. Item: I give unto Mr. Hall, the minister, xx s. Richard's wife, Isabella, died before 10 December 1630 in Cholesbury, leaving him a widower.4 Richard departed this life in Cholesbury. He was buried on 2 November 1632 at the Parish of Aston Clinton in the churchyard of St. Michael & All Angels.4 His will was probated on 16 May 1633 in the court of the Archdeaconry of Buckinghamshire.
