Jonathan Baldwin

M, b. 6 June 1758, d. 4 July 1843
     Jonathan was born on Tuesday, 6 June 1758 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut.1 He was the son of Abiel Baldwin and Mehitable Johnson. He was christened there on 11 June 1758 in Durham. Jonathan married Summit Lord circa 1782 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut.2 Jonathan & Submit had children: Dense [1785][m. John Dibble]. Elihu W. [12/23/1789], Sylvester [1792][m. Julia Ann Lord], Patty [1794][tn. Obed Dibbl & Jonathan [1799]m. Miss Green.3,4 Jonathan & his family removed to Durham, New York, in the great emigration. He was a Deacon there. He removed with his brother Aaron, in 1816, to Atwater, Portage county, Ohio.5 Jonathan departed this life on Tuesday, 4 July 1843 in Atwater, Portage County, Ohio, at age 85 years and 28 days.6 He was buried there in Atwater Cemetery. The inscription on his tombstone reads: Deac. Jno. Baldwin died July 4, 1843 aged 85 yrs.
