Caroline Baird

     Caroline was born circa 1845 in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Theophilus Baird and Phebe Roberts. Samuel, husband of Caroline, was noted of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and that he ran a toll gate two miles north of there, along the Merrick Farm. On the 1880 US census - Samuel Ricketts [31 Ohio], Barbara [29 Ohio], Lola B. [3 Ohio], Nettie E. [1 Ohio], Clara Hiserman [12 Ohio][neice], Jacob Heiserman [61 Wertenburg] is the only Samuel Ricketts listed in either Seneca or Wyandot Counties of Ohio. On the Ohio marriage records, Samuel Ricketts married 2 December 1875 Barbara Heisserman. This must be the Samuel Ricketts who ran the toll gate near the Merrick farm. Caroline is a questionable member of this family.
