Marie Francoise Amiot dit Villeneuve

     Marie Francoise was born on Monday, 12 July 1660 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of Mathieu Amiot dit Villeneuve and Marie Miville. She was christened there on 14 July 1660 in the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ Marie Francoise married Charles Gingras, son of Francoise de St-Lotz, on 5 November 1675 in Riviere-Desroches, Quebec, Canada. The marrige was performed by the missionary Father Cyprien Dufort. It was then registered at Notre Dame de Quebec by the curator, Henri Debernieres.² 1681, Marie and her husband, Charles, were listed on the Canadian Census in St-Augustin de-Desmaures, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Charles Gingras [40 years], Francoise [24 years], Mathieu [5 years], Jean [3 years] & Charles [6 months].³ Marie's husband, Charles, died on 8 January 1710 in St-Augustin de-Desmaures, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada, leaving her a widow. Marie departed this life on Tuesday, 7 February 1736 in St-Augustin de-Desmaures, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada, at age 75 years, 6 months and 26 days. She was buried there in the cemetery of St-Augustin Church on Wednesday, 8 February 1736.⁴
