Katherine (?)1

F, b. circa 1610, d. before 2 April 1654
     Katherine was born circa 1610 in England. Katherine married John Walker in 1628 in England. On 1 August 1634, Katherine & her husband, John, left their home in England aboard the ship, "Griffin", bound for New England. Listed among the 200 passengers were John Walker, his wife, Katherin, & Sarah including William & Ann Hutchinson and John Lathrop. Many of of these immigrants became leaders in the colony. They arrived on the 18th of September at Boston.. Katherine's husband, John, died in Portsmouth leaving her a widow. Katherine made her will before 2 April 1654.

the will is not dated . . .bequeathed moveables to "my daughter Sarah Sands," to "James Sands" and to "my daughter Mary"; to "Goodman Freeborne" a green jacket; to "Alice" one jacket; William Freeborne and Adam Mott Sr. to be overseers; "my two daughters Sarah and Mary to be executors."2

Katherine departed this life before 2 April 1654 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island. On 2 April 1654 William Earle sold to James Sands 14 acres by right of his wife Mary, daughter of Katherine land“which was possessed by the late deceased widow Walker.3 Her will was probated on 16 December 1671.
