     Kilvert was born in Bernicia at the castle of Bamburgh. He was the son of Ligulph (?) Kilvert married Ecgfrida, daughter of Bishop Aldhun (?), in the Kingdom of Bernicia. She divorced him & became a nun. He was a Thegn of Yorkshire.
