     Elsje Theunia was born before 10 May 1648 in Kings County, Long Island, New York. On 10 May 1648, she was christened at the New Amsterdam Reformed Dutch Church in the City, County & State of New York. The witnesses were Barent Bal & Elsje Pieters.¹ She was the daughter of Theunis Nyssen (?) and Phoebe Jans Sales.
